IBC Engineering Completes Services for Canastota Central School District

October 16, 2017

IBC Engineering, an engineering consulting firm specializing in innovative design building systems, is proud to announce it has completed services for Canastota Central School District.

How did IBC get involved in supporting the District's efforts? Building Conditioning Surveys initiated by the District discovered an immediate need to update the High School Science Wing. As such, IBC Engineering was selected to provide the following services for the $7.5 Million renovation:

  • Mechanical Engineering Systems Design

  • Electrical Engineering Systems Design

  • Plumbing Engineering Systems Design

With the main design challenge being how to replace all original HVAC equipment, bringing the other existing systems up to code played a large role throughout the design process as well. Not to mention, diagnosing and addressing these original flaws were paramount because many of the systems had not functioned correctly since the were first constructed in the building.

By using careful attention to detail and strategic decision making, all internal building systems were upgraded successfully and enabled for easier maintenance, as well as extended service life. The HVAC upgrades also significantly improved indoor air quality and thermal comfort for staff and students creating a better learning environment.

IBC Engineering worked closely with King + King and the District to ensure the project's successful and timely completion. This project is Phase II of the District's 2014 Capital Improvement Projects.
